Likewise, a woodworker can't have too many clamps. I guess I am
fortunate. I've known Mrs. Nonnymus since before Kindergarten, so she
has a pretty good grasp (and perfect recall) of where I am weak. We
were even friends- right up until the time we got married- almost 40
years ago. During our long relationship, she has ramped down the
complaining about my toys and it's almost reached the point where I can
go shopping and NOT have to sneak my purchases into the house.

I suppose I shouldn't think it's funny, but back in the '80's, SWMABO
and I both had well paying jobs on top of my military retirement. We
traded off my old '73 Honda 750 for a Harley 80/80, later to be replaced
by the "Swoosh" machine, an '83 Yamaha Venture Royale. A household
joke was my $1,000 saturdays at the local Farm and Ranch store.
SWMABO never complained. She always got whatever she wanted,
which was almost nothing. She had a Doberman, a mutt and her garden.
That pretty much did it for her. We took a 4,000 mile road vaction every
year on the current bike and life was good. We camped at KOA or
whereever. We started with a tent and ended up with a Trav-Lite trailer
That was the Taj Majal for a biker. We could and did entertain cocktails
for six in that trailer. Dirt free meals for four were a piece of cake.
Down-
hill from Independance Pass (CO) in the rain was a nighmare with traffic not

willing to let me get into the slower lane.

I apologize for getting carried away. Present life hasn't been that pleasant
lately. Prognosis for DW is at least three more weeks in rehab. Given
her state of mind when I visited today, I doublt I'll get her back at all.
Physically, she's slowly improving. Mentally, she's on another planet.
I have an appointment for her with her neurologist on the 28th. We'll
see what we'll see.
