One burner, no matter how many BTU's it has, is too small to
effectively
grill much of anything. You have heat in the center, that rapidly
dissipates away from the center. You really can't cook two steaks side
by
side. My advice would be to limit your search initially to at least two
burners.

Number of burners mean nothing. Design of the burners means everything.

I can easily grill two steaks, side by side, using only one burner on my
grill. My grill also costs more than $100 though.
You can't grill the steak to "char-rare" with the lid up, using any one
burner
grill on the market.

BZZZZZZZZTT!!! Reading for comprehension: E

"using only one burner on my grill" does not imply--in fact, it's
exactly the opposite implication--a one burner grill.

"Do your thoughts call ahead or do they just arrive at your mouth

This line followed. You should be able to comprehend.
"For that matter, you can't with any gas grill with the
lid up, unless you use a direct infrared grill."
Please don't, for this NG's sake, start a Kevin S. Wilson sort of thread.

Yes, by all means please refrain from pointing out that Kent is once
more spouting nonsense.

Kent, you ever heard of the stylistic devices Joseph Williams calls
"hedges"? They're expressions that enable one to express an opinion
while acknowledging that its quite likely that not everyone shares
that opinion. Think of such phrases as "in my opinion," "in my
experience," "it would appear that," and "as far as I know."

You might want to try them some time.

Hedges are also the kind of qualifiers that reasonable people use to
acknowledge that it's a big ol' world, with lots of different kinds of
gas grills in it. A reasonable person might say "You can't with MOST
gas grills . . ."

See the difference?

No?

I didn't think you would. Reasonable people will, though.
