Fair & Lovely products

Hi. I don't care for the moral-political discussions so please take
them elsewhere.

I'd like to ask if anyone here knows about these products and what
they're like. After a little time in the Gulf region I'm going back to
England and my skin has darkened enough that the little patches of
vitiligo on my face look even more prominent. I saw in a supermarket
here those skin lightening products and I"m curious about them. Here
are my questions

1. Do they work?
2. How much lighter do they make the skin? It's said that their effect
is noticed after 4-6 weeks, well, what happens afterwards? Do they
lose their effect despite continued use or would they still have
accumulative effect?
3. Are their effects permanent or do they cease once their application
is stopped?
4. Do they provoke vitiligo?
5. I'm worried about using it as a face cream as I remember, many
years ago, seeing someone who must've used a similar thing and there
was a clear line of demarkation around the neck and face where it was
obvious that he used a lightening cream on some parts and not on
others (the one he didn't use were the back of the neck and so on).
What's the best way to ensure an even, uniform and whole effect? Which
products do I need? I noticed that they had a face and neck cream,
they had a body lotion, and they also had a soap; which of these do I
need? I don't mind using them all if necessary as they seem cheap
enough. I'm going back to England though where I don't think those
products are in easy supply, so, how much of them do I need? 1 tube?
2? 3? more?
6. Anything more I need to know?

.
