Re: What are you doing differently (style-wise) this fall?

Good thread :-)

Anybody make any changes for fall (or spring in the other hemisphere),
or just changes in general?

I am:

Focusing my makeup on my eyes rather than my lips, with a couple of
different eyeshadows plus eyeliner, as well as mascara and concealer
(doesn't take as long as I thought).

Wearing my hair down rather than in a ponytail or bun.

Belatedly embracing the "modern layering" look, as it makes it easier
to dress while I am transitioning between sizes

Changed my everyday purse from an Isabella Fiore flamingo tote to a
Burberry Nova Plaid tote.

Wearing good shoes again rather than the cheap shoes I wear in the
summer.

Also looking for a new fragrance, as I have finally slightly tired of
Fresh Cannabis Santal (hate the name, love the fragrance), which I have
worn every day since April. I tried Angel today but it it bugging me,
as it is still too heavy for this weather. Of all things, based on the
description I read in a magazine, I am dying to try Baby Phat Golden
Goddess (I am not a Kimora Lee fan), but can't find it anywhere. I may
visit the fragrance counter later while waiting to pick up my daughter
from religious school, but since I'm wearing Angel I probably won't be
able to smell anything else.

I'm going to wear more skirts with boots this winter instead of all
jeans, all the time which I am right sick of after several years. I
have a black linen skirt I think I can get away with doing this with
because it's a very fine, non-nubby linen and jet black, not brown or
blue black. In my particular climate I think this type and color of
linen can work year round here. Others I'll wear boots with are my
tiered jean skirt with the frayed hem, a long, camel broomstick skirt
with black topstitching and one I hope to get from AT Loft at sale
time, grey flannel A line, below mid calf with braid and velvet ribbon
trim. I've described or linked to all of them in more detail in other
threads if anyone's interested. I have tall black leather boots w/
laces up the back and have my eye on Tarjay's black moleskin scrunch
boots. IMO they harken back to the 80s in a good way.
