Re: How is your summer wardrobe?

Mine's fine, except a few things are starting to be too big.
(And these are things I replaced when old things got too big.
Not a problem in most ways I know, but a PITA in other
ways.)

I think I'm getting a discount card to ON, Gap and Banana
Republic soon and plan to restock on jeans and khakis
and tee shirts then. That's one reason I like getting jeans
and tee shirts from ON or Gap or Target--no big investment.

May have to find a tailor for a couple of suits--or maybe
the ladies-who-lunch-boutique can tailor them.

My closet is large enough--thank Bob--that rearranging
for summer means moving wool things to the back of
the rails, putting away cashmere, and putting boots in
the back and summerier shoes toward the front. Of course,
we really only have three seasons here, so lots of things
I wear year-round--cotton cardigans, summer-weight
wool garbardine, light cashmere, EF viscose.

Mostly I'm wearing, on average-nothing-going-on days
lightweight khakis and a tee shirt, usually with one of two
pairs of Cole-Haan fisherman's sandals, or knee-length
flippy printed skirts with tee shirts. Too hot for anything
else. All my long linen EF tank dresses are too big, and
watching far too many episodes of What Not to Wear
has made me less enthused about that look.

Three seasons? Hot & humid, really hot & humid, and incredibly hot & humid?

I know what you mean about losing the love affair with linen, though mine
was always Flax/Angelheart rather than EF. The shapeless tent look isn't
very flattering. It's overwhelming on a small person, and if someone is
really large, an oversized linen tarp isn't going to fool anyone. Still,
when it is especially hot and humid, I toss on a handkerchief linen
shmatte--fashion be damned. Some of my linen shmattes are used as cover-ups
to protect my skin from the sun and/or protect onlookers from the sight of
my skin.
