OTOH, I've seen much higher quality construction in men's shoes.
Definitely designed for the long haul. (If you can score some Armani
oxfords on ebay, check them out. They are so soft and smooth on the
inside; no break-in period required. IIRC, my father had some Bally's
that he got in Switzerland in the 1970s; he was definitely not a clothes
hound, but he was very proud of those shoes.)
Any "store bought" boots I own are men's, the women's "style" boots fall
apart after a few days on the trail or the range.
I have a pair of British paddock boots that are at least 30 years old, and
still almost perfect. Great leather and excellent workmanship will tell
every time.
