To be honest, this is one of the few situations where I think the movie is
going to be much better than the book. I know most people loved this book,
but personally I found the story and main character growth to be very slow
to develop. Also, I found all the descriptions and listings of the designer
outfits and the bitchiness of her boss to be redundant information that was
not addding much to the story. However, when I saw the trailer I thought,
wow, that is going to be do cute and funny! In other words, I think the film
is going to have to put the story in the foreground and the name dropping
and flossing in the background, if that makes sense. We'll see if I am right

I've read two reviews and one said there are more handbags, jewels and
shoes than in all the summer movies combined. Another says Meryl Streep
plays a supporting role to the real star, fashion.
