Fashion Coop in the OC

hi there
I covered the Fashion Coop today and took "the kid" with me for her to
experience a different sort of sample sale. It was definitely educational
for her since she realized that while the necklace or tee or dress she
coveted might be a great deal, $100 was still too much money for her (or
me ) to spend on something that she will inevitably grow out of-- quickly as
she is getting taller by the minute.
The Fashion Coop was held just off the 405 in Irvine Spectrum just a hair
south of Verizon Amphitheater. In fact I drove right past it and got
freaking lost and had to loop around as the area is still developing a lot.
Finally spotted the sign near Wild Rivers and we parked quickly (with tons
of space).. We hoofed it in and knew it was going to be a great sale based
on the longish line that moved quickly for the VIP people who were let in 2
hours before the regular non VIP shoppers.
The $30 dollar fee bought you an early entrance to get first dibs on a slew
of lines that left even me breathless The goody bag was nice.. had some cool
littles Sugar cosmetics samples, dr scholl inserts (I get both of those) and
some other stuff. They served TAB energy drink and it was GREAT!!
..
.. The name brands were substantial--
and the prices were pretty good. Some items were steals, others were
pretty good.. To really score, you needed cash. Checks weren't accepted and
there is less bargaining with a CC but it is accepted.
It was PACKED with different brands and I was looking for a specific brand
and could not find it there.. but I did find lots of other things--
including CEA Swim for the kid 30 bucks per swimsuit top + bottom!! this is
a great deal. we got 2 suits
She bought a new pair of leather slides in red and got another pair of
thongs for about 5 bucks.. which is hot..
I got an Aaneta hobo bag in a dark bronze brown color with studs and I got
it for 100 (down from 385).. good deal. Not like I *needed* a new handbag..
but I have been jonesing this brand for a long time.
The kid got some cute earrings for 12, a ring for 10 and a top for 22.
loved the different kinds of styles.
there will be a podcast and images of the sale on my LA Story blog as soon
as I get the images.. which should be this week.
Then we left and went to South Coast Plaza, hit sephora and used a couple
gift cards- she bought some fun Sephora brand stuff. I bought a smashbox kit
and some Longo liquid foundation that I am not sure is the right color..
will find out or return it..
and got a birthday gift for a friend .. all on GC's.. Yay.
then hit Macys where I had 2 GCs for that store.. and bought the kid white
shorts.. 2 tops and me one top and I wound up paying 4 dollars cash.
Stopped at in n out for lunch on the way home!
what did I wear?
Oligo Tissew jeans with orange contrast threading up the side seams.. boot
cut .. slightly higher rise than I usually do
and a Yellow Flower top .. shown here in Red but mine was in grey with gold
details, gold sequins, orange and magenta crystal jewels. it was really
cute..

look at the red tee with the split neck and the empire detailing in
sequins... and click on that. the front and back of the grey one is also
shown in the red too. it's really cute. and very fall as well
