So here's the deal... I have straight hair. Like, really straight.
Straighter than a man with a beer and pork rinds on Superbowl Sunday.
My mom and brother have increasingly wavy hair that comes from my
grandfather, but I haven't seen it yet on me. Anyway. I've been
thinking about getting a perm, but:
a) they're expensive and I have more important things to spend my money
on (like my cellphone bill and calling my boyfriend in Japan and paying
for school trips). And I just quit my job, which was a stupid decision.
b) I've heard that "wavy" perms don't last very long. I really don't
want to have curly hair and wait for it to wave out.
I also hate doing *** to my hair in the morning. I wake up extremely
late and get ready in about 10 minutes, tops.
So is there any way I can coax my hair into being wavy without
resorting to a perm or having to style it every day? The only thing I'm
thinking is braids at night, but that only worked when I was a little
kid. Maybe if I did it every night? Hmmmm. Oh, and when I do succeed in
getting my hair wavy, it stays until maybe noon, and then it goes
totally straight again (especiallly in this insufferable heat).
Maybe you could try a different hair cut. Mine looks straight when it's
all one length, and wavy when it's layered. I have a nice wash and go
layered cut right now that's just a bit past my shoulders. I hate doing
stuff to my hair in the morning too...all I do now is spray it with
some Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray after I get out of the shower. By the
time I get to work it's dry and in loose waves.
