This is the book I ordered today. The original story was published in
the New Yorker in 1997 but my husband said he read it in a book he
borrowed from someone he worked with a few years ago. That's why I
couldn't find it when I was looking for it this afternoon.

I have two English degrees, a BA from UCLA and a MA with an emphasis in
American literature from CSULB. I just don't let them get in the way of
my enjoyment of a good movie or book.

Did you know Augie Coppola, Nicolas Cage's dad, who taught in the English Dept. at CSULB? A.
No, but I must say I had the best professors there. Back in the olden days when I was there they were into new writers such as Buckowski. One of my favorite professors was Gerald Lockin. He could lecture for hours without notes and he was excellent. Tarkanian was the basketball coach when I was there and then we both ended up in Fresno :)
