We still have phone lines down so I can't get online unless I go
to a friend's house.
Thanks to everyone who has emailed. We're fine, got power back
Sunday, the gas lines are much shorter, the groceries are almost
back to normal (like you can get bread, for instance).
Our neighbors from LA and the lower half of MS are not doing
so well, obviously. The lines at our Coliseum for help are
immensely long. And it is still high summer here.
It is all so very very sad; even people who are OK have this
glazed look on their faces. As, I'm afraid, do I.
It's kind of changed me, probably temporarily, but I have
just desultorily thrown out Sephora & NM catalogues,
I couldn't care less right now.
Except of course I was glad to have power, so I could use
my flat iron and no longer resemble Angela Davis, circa
1970 (that coif looked good on her; it does not on me).
