1982: Late Night debuts on NBC with the first of 1,810 episodes.
Calvert DeForest begins the proceedings with a parody of the opening
of "Frankenstein," and the first guest, Bill Murray, sets the tone of
the evening by arriving fully inebriated and demonstrating his aerobic
exercises to the music of Olivia Newton-John's "Let's Get Physical,"
faked on the spot by Paul's new band. The show concludes with a
reading of "Bowery at Midnight" by Steve Fessler.
Wait...so this is Dave's 30th anniversary!...
Get him something made of pearl....r
