Nobody posted his obit. My posted obits are a mess. RIP, genius
hysterical director who also directed "Days Of Wine and Roses." Hey,
hey, guess what? He was a long-time depressive who unsuccessfully
tried suicide, and it was like a Clouseau experience.
You will be missed. Especially by wife Julie Andrews.
It was a big deal over on alt.obituaries, and several of us listed our favorite
films of his, with the Pink Panther series, "10" and "The Great Race" (perhaps
influenced by Tony Curtis' death still fresh in memory) being the
favorites..."S.O.B" was touched on briefly, but may have been too
autobiographical for comfort; I myself pulled out the DVD of "Skin Deep" and
re-watched it that night...may have to pop out "Switch" again in the next few
days....r

Me? Sarcastic?
Yeah, right.
He was brilliant. Don't know if he was MENSA material, but probably.
Julie is funny, too. They probably had lots of laffs over their
depressive years.

Inspector Clueseau aka Peter Sellers MAY be the Charlie Chaplin
of the last 3rd of twentieth century ... fox-paramount-warner-sony-mgm
(Frankly, CC wasn't my tea of cup, but PS kept me laffin')
which BE obviously recognized, and ...directed the best from P.S.
Blake Edwards has to be on an all time great list for PANTHER and
the variety of others- Hide quoted text -

Henry Miller is a bit too graphic for my taste, but I agree about
Herbert Lom, Clouseau's boss, who eventually wound up in a padded
cell.
