You misconstrue the doctor's job, Sally.  Whatever his name, he has no
power to "let" or "allow" Dave to appear unless Dave is comatose and
cannot make his own decisions.

An in-house doctor is there as an employee: to fix whatever needs
fixing and to give medical advise -if it's asked for.  But that's
normally about it.

I see your point, Pete. Had I been the doctor, however, I would have
wrestled him to the ground before letting him ignore that eye and get
out there.

It would be nice to at least think Dr. Lou gave it a shot. :) I had
horrendous eye problems for a run of 10 years--so I know about serious
eye problems. It was like I was under a curse. I'm just grateful he
got a fast and correct diagnosis, but what he had was really
dangerous. You amuse me when you comment that Dave has to be comatose
to listen to his doctor.
