Throughout all the fuss about Haldeman regarding Letterman, I don't
think anyone questioned that he did well recognized good work in his
professional area of broadcasting. That reputation made it all the
more surprising that he would risk a solid career through this sketchy
blackmail endeavor.

(I think "Sketchy Blackmail Endeavor" is my favorite Steely Dan album.
Or would that be a Joe Walsh album title?)

Personally, though I feel that "Sketchy Blackmail Endeavor" is one of
the great Steely Dan albums, "Gray, Lady, Gray" will always be my
fave.
