Mon. 8/31 Big Show Synopsis

Hey, how's it goin'? Here we go ...

*DESK CHAT HIGHLIGHTS*
Dave has something to say. He told Tony he 'doesn't need the cards' for this. Dave explains that after he got married, his wife had a party with her friends. They threw her a party in New York. Then her friends threw her a party in Chicago. Most recently, they threw her a party in Cleveland. Now, Dave says he has no problem with parties; he's always said that if you're invited to a party, 'get there early' and 'stay late.' It's just that *he* hasn't had a party. Not only has Dave not had a party since they got married, but no one has even asked him whether he would *like* to have a party.

Also, Dave didn't go to Martha's Vineyard over the weekend. His son didn't go to the beach after all. They did go to an aquarium. Dave says it was great. One thing, though: There was a 'big kid' who was kind of sticking close to them. Eventually the big kid said hi, and they said hi back. Then the big kid said something. Dave says he knows he started this -- he's been telling this joke for a while -- but now he's tired of it. What did the big kid say? He cracked wise about Harry being there with his 'grandfather.' Dave says even though he started it, he's now tired of it.

Good, funny desk chat tonight.

The Top Ten List: 'Ways to Irritate Dick Cheney.'

And all night long: Divin' dogs out on 53rd Street. My dog Buddy got really close to the TV and started barking at the eventual winner. He really did.

*HOWIE MANDEL*
He doesn't like to shake hands. It's an anxiety thing; an anxiety disorder thing -- to wit, obsessive-compulsive disorder, or OCD. New half-hour episodes of "Deal or No Deal" now air weekdays in syndication.

*DIRTY PROJECTORS*
Their album is "Bitte Orca."

Rumer Willis has agreed to come back tonight (Tuesday).

*MISCELLANEOUS MEANDERING*
What's happenin', people? I'm going to try to get 5-6 hours of sleep tonight. Which means I'm going to bed soon. Which means I'm going to wrap up this 'Synopsis' ... now.

Later ...
