I caught the last few minutes of a Walter Cronkite tribute on CBS
tonight. They had clips of Cronkite, and  short snippets from various
famous folks talking about him (George Clooney, Dan Rather, Robin
Williams, Bill Clinton, Barack Obama, Ted Koppel, et al.) In the closing
credits, a short list of "special thanks to" included David Letterman.
Did anyone see the entire program? What was up with the thanks to Dave?
Did they show a clip of Cronkite's appearance on LSwDL?

Just Dave introducing him as a guest, but nothing beyond that. Dave
had his prison haircut, which clues us as to when this was.
