There was a older (ha! probably my age) but lovable gruff retired NYC

hold up a firefighter's coat, hoping to present it to Paul via a
written message his wife held up. At first he seemed a little out of
place, but there he was, rocking out to "Get Back."
Was he the guy who was in the audience for the Beatles Ed Sullivan
appearance? There was a story about Paul McCartney and Dave on my
local CBS station that came from CBS NY and they talked to this guy.
I can't find the story or the video to show you to see if the guy
you're talking about was the guy in the story. I think it may be
because the stupid reporter called the show "Late NIGHT' with David
Letterman over and over again. I think maybe all the local CBS
affiliates and their viewers must have screamed at them asking how
anyone from CBS News could get the name of the show wrong in the
story!
Maybe...so the story and the video have disappeared from my local CBS
station, the local CBS NY affiliate and the CBS News site.
