Oh, how cute he is! He looks like a nice man. Did the gap come from
Mom's
side?
There's a definite resemblance to Dorothy -- his cheeks and his smile.
If I remember correctly, didn't Dave use Earl's name as a pseudonym in
"Cabin Boy" and the Beavis & Butt-Head movie?
What do you know, you're right!

There's another picture of Uncle Earl in that cookbook his Mom wrote a
few years back. She's sitting next to her brother, and they looked
very close. The poor woman must be feeling pretty bad. Sorry for her.
Nice to hear what a competent, dependable character he was. I thought
he was nice-looking, too, and must've been adorable when young. Don't
think he ever got married, though. No mention of a wife or children.
I also wondered if he had ever married, then noticed that a step-
grandson is listed among the survivors. Doesn't one have to have
children in order to have grandchildren, step or otherwise? Earl
must have married a woman who had children from an earlier marriage
and became a step-father and step-grandfather to her children. Since
there is no mention of any step-children, maybe they are deceased?
