That's all I got. What are *you* all up to this weekend?

Here's my pointless gripe for this weekend. Last night I went to a hipster style bar restaurant near the university (Pitt) for dinner. The only time I can ever find street parking is when school is not in session. Two young women sat close by and they were both tattooed up. Extensively along the arms and upper torso was what I could see. That part doesn't bother me. A tattoo can be a sign of taking ownership of one's body or satisfying a desire to stand out.

What bothered me was that the tattoos were very poorly drawn. It might be that we've gotten to a stage where there is more of a demand for tattoos than there are talented tattoo artists. It might be that the women felt their money was better spent on big, lousy tattoos rather than small, tasteful ones. While not having any tattoos myself, I can accept the idea of having designs on one's skin that will be there for the rest of one's life. I just can't accept the idea that it would be poorly drawn ones.
