Tonight, Dave mentioned the passing of a family member "a couple of

Thanks for posting this, Donz.  When he mentioned that, I was
wondering if it was the famous "Uncle Earl."

The date is interesting - Earl passed away on April 14th.  April 15th
was the show where the accountants read the Top Ten, and I and some
others participated in the synopsis thread saying that Dave was
uncharacteristically mean-spirited that day (the fat comment about the
Matthew Broderick look-alike) and everything just felt "off" the
entire show.  Now it makes sense and it is certainly very
understandable for Dave to be off his game that day.

I will miss the Earl stories.  I hope he keeps telling them as a
tribute to this great guy.

More about Uncle Earl in today's Wahoo:

Dave mentions we are approaching the Memorial Day weekend and salutes
all our men and women who gave their all for our country, our freedom,
and freedom throughout the world. He extends a personal salute to his
Uncle Earl who passed away recently. Earl Hofert was a member of the
Ground Crew with the 603rd Squadron 398th Bomb Group in 1944-45.
