Look for the bunny slippers on Dave - if they arrive!

As part of a skit (a skit? Dave does a skit?) if the bunny slippers
arrived in time, Dave may be wearing them.

<Local slippers may hit Letterman talk show

A local company might be in the national spotlight tonight as a talk
show host sports its products.

During a skit on his show tonight, David Letterman might be wearing
slippers provided by Runaway Rabbit - a Bowling Green-based business
that makes and sells bunny slippers.

“Anytime you can get a national spotlight on your product, it means a
lot to us,” co-owner Laura Jones said. “We’ll get a lot of orders.”

But whether their slippers will appear on the late night talk show is
a race against time. They might not arrive in time for the show, which
is pre-taped.

“We sent them anyway,” Jones said. “It looks a little iffy right now.”

Jones and her business partner, Gayla Warner, received a call Tuesday
morning from a “Late Show” staff member, who asked if they could ship
a pair of slippers to New York for Letterman to wear on tonight’s
show. Letterman ordered size 13.

The company specializes in bunny slippers - a throwback to a style
that is not produced and marketed as heavily as it used to be. In
fact, finding a company that makes bunny slippers is difficult,
especially if someone is trying to find slippers for a man - which is
why Letterman’s show contacted Runaway Rabbit, Jones said.

The show found Runaway Rabbit through the Internet. When surfers type
“bunny slippers” into the Google search engine, Runaway Rabbit’s Web
site - www.runawayrabbit.com - is one of the first results.

Warner and Jones developed the company about five years go when they
couldn’t find a pair of bunny slippers like those they wore during
their youth. Since then, the slippers have been featured in national
magazines, such as Woman’s Day and Parent and Child.

The co-owners said they will anxiously await a call from Letterman’s
staff today to find out if the slippers were received on time.

“If not for this skit, he might use them for something,” Jones said.>

Maybe...yeah, something
