Perhaps you're confusing the Soundtrack to the film with the first BB
LP, which came out a year before the film shoot.

I'm getting sloppy -- the first BB LP was recorded live at the L.A.
Universal Amphitheatre September 9 to 17, 1978. It wasn't released
until around December of that year. The film shoot began around 6
months later, not a year.
