But you didn't quite mention that in March you predicted Oct 10, the
same date Alan predicted. So if we are allowed to change our guesses
mid-way, then we all got it right because I changed my guess to Oct 13
a couple of weeks ago. And Alan changed his too!

Alan predicted October 8, a very good guess. See:http://groups.google.com/group/alt.fan.letterman/msg/aa07fd39af4f6fdb...

The thing is he changed his guess mid-way through and is now bragging
that he guessed the right date. We all sent in our original guesses
in March and that should be the guess that gets counted and not any
subsequent guesses. I don't mind being a loser but I don't want to
lose to a bragging cheater.

1. I guessed it to the day 3 months in advance.
2. I adjusted my guess made ~7 months ago to 1 episode later.
3. A bunch of us were very close.

Oh sure, three months ahead of time. That's easy. Why not stick to
the guess you originally made 7 months ahead?

You would have won anyway because you were the closest without going
over. But instead, three months ahead of time you change your guess.
All the original guesses that were turned in last March should be the
guesses counted.

We were all close -- within a week. I think that is pretty good for 7
months ahead of time and not knowing what the schedule would be for
the Olympics.

And who said you could change your guess? Did you turn in your
revised guess to Mikemack and did he accept the revised guess?

Maybe...who wants a ruling from the rules committee!
