BBill is talking about a digital TV. After February 19, his digital TV
will continue to work normally. He is already prepared for the digital
transition.

You're one of those pollyannas who didn't think there was a Y2K problem,
aintcha?...r

Me? I'm still in my fortified bunker! How's the air out there? Have the
robots been defeated yet?

But, if you want to get really technical, there are a whole lot of strange
things that could happen on February 19th, and in the weeks and months
afterward, even for people who own digital TVs or who got their government
converters. Mostly, it has to do with TV stations that will be changing
to
a different digital channel after they shut down their old analog
channels.
There will be lots of stations operating with reduced power, or with
tempoary antennas from temporary towers. There will be a lot of musical
chairs as these stations move to their final locations, and viewers will
be
forced to re-scan their digital channels frequently.

Most channels are currently on their final locations. They are transmitting
data that the digital tuners interpret to make them appear as appendages of
the current channel (i.e. In Detroit, SeeBS analog is on 62. Their digital
is on 44. Some, but afaik, not most, digital tuners will allow you to go
ahead and tune to 44.1 to see SeeBS digital). For reason I don't understand
(probably has to do with them being adjacent to current analog channels),
there are some channels with different digital assgnments after the
changeover than what they're on now.
