What's happenin', people? Let me ask you all a question. Now that the
Olympics are well underway, do you have at least a touch of the Olympic
Fever? I must admit: I got a touch of it this week while watching some
swimming, weightlifting and gymnastics. Sure, the opening ceremony was
partially faked, but it sure was *efficient*. What I want to know is:
was NBC in collusion with the Beijing organizers in faking the fireworks
'footprints' footage? NBC -- or at least some elements within NBC --
would have had to have been in on it. Right? (As opposed to local
organizers somehow inserting the footage into NBC's feed -- or supplying
the digitally-altered shots *to* NBC -- without the prior knowledge of
the telecast's directors or producers.)

I think digitally-enhancing the fireworks was fine. Everything on TV
or onstage or in any public arena is "enhanced" in some way or another
-- Pamela Anderson, Ashley Simpson, Barry Bonds, Late Show audiences
-- why not fireworks?

I just think if they're going to digitally insert fake fireworks into the broadcast, the hosts should explicitly say, 'By the way, the fireworks you're seeing right now are fake; they're being digitally inserted into the picture.' (As opposed to vague pronouncements about 'aspects' being 'almost like cinema in real time.')

And don't get me started on lip-syncing performers. That's just wrong, on a variety of levels.

Wait a second. Pamela Anderson's boobs aren't real?
