I ran across a little piece in the April 4 "Entertainment Weekly"
tonight (page 16). I haven't seen any reference to the subject on AFL.
A book with the title "Late Show Fun Facts" is due to be published on
September 23 by Hyperion. It will be a compilation of Fun Facts from
the FBMI, not unlike the series of Top Ten books.

Let the debate begin!
I enjoy Fun Facts, and think this could be a very satisfying bathroom
book.
The goofiness of these bits provide a timeless sort of humor,
effective
to gather up and preserve in a book.
The Top Ten Lists in recent years have been so topical, in subject
and items, that I don't think they would have much shelf life,
compared
to the Top Ten Lists of the past. I should revisit the published books
of
these lists from past years (actually, past decades at this point) to
see
how well the jokes hold up.
This gets me thinking about what book, video, etc. collections
of Late Show material would be worth doing. A few come to mind:
1. The Kalter Monologues -- A book of transcripts of Alan Kalter's
special messages to read aloud to near and dear ones.
2. Martin Short Production Numbers -- A DVD of all the song and dance
numbers (so far) with which Short concludes his segments with Dave.
3. Throwing stuff off the Ed Sullivan Theater Roof screen saver
software.
4. "The Girls of 'Will It Float?' Workout Video -- With bonus footage
from the "Will It Float?" wrap parties.
5. Rupert Jee paper doll set. Dress Rupert in dozens of humiliating
outfits.
6. Gerard Mulligan: man of a thousand faces.
7. Socially questionable behaviour the horn section have admitted to by
raising their hands.- Hide quoted text -

8. Dave's Blue Card Tossing - and resulting traffic problems
9. Hand Kisses..
