I'll be doing as little as possible over the weekend. As of today, I am officially on spring break. I have grading (etc.) to do over the break, and will do my taxes (it's an annual Spring Break tradition), and a colleague and I will do some work on the classroom computers that we maintain. Other than that, I'll be catching up on sleep, watching programs off the DVR, and goofing off generally. Hopefully I can finally lick this lingering cold that I have had all week.

I'm glad today is Saturday. Yesterday seemed like a Saturday to me.

I just hope you're continuing to force fluids.

Hmmm, come to think of it, I have not been. I have actually been feeling a little dehydrated this evening. I'll try to remedy the situation.

Also, here's something to keep in mind as you're goofing off: don't overdo it.

Right now, I am stuck in Dial-Up Hell. As a first step toward doing my taxes, I installed the TaxCut software. Well, the next thing you have to do after installing is let it download the updates, which it estimated would take 80 minutes over dial-up. It has been 3 and 1/2 hours so far, and is only up to about 2/3 on the download progress meter. Meanwhile, I can't disconnect and use the phone, and I can barely send/receive e-mails or AFL posts while the thing is hogging all the bandwidth. I had to temporarily disable network activity in BOINC, which was trying to upload and/or download at the same time, as a result of which the TaxCut update kept failing.

If this ever finishes, I still have to download and install the state program and get the state updates. I've been using TaxCut for 10 years, and while it has always been a pain to download the updates and the state program, it has never been anywhere near this bad.
