to me to be a complete abrogation of journalistic standards for a media
outlet to report on what he says without also noting his ethical 'problems.'

Years ago I used to run across the "700 Club" while changing channels.
Quite often he would look at the camera and announce that he had just
become aware (and not by way of U. S. Mail, either) of a specific
ailment a viewer had.

I think it's generous to list the option of delusional. I think #2 is
a better description for him. I agree that media coverage should take
into consideration Pat's track record.
