Tonight, for the first time, on the beautiful stage of the Ed Sullivan
Theater, it's ... Jose Feliciano, performing his beautifully haunting
"Old Turkey Buzzard." This was just great. Fantastic.

I have GOLD fever now, part 'n parcel with the ole paradigm.
Jose got some good guitar music in, but I wanted more of his guitar
playing!


We also took a look at a couple of clips. After the break, we had a
visit from Johnny Twain, as well as a TTL: 'Questions President Bush
Asked the Dalai Lama.' A little later, Alan announced tonight's 'prize
package.' We also had a 'Tony Mendez Show' preview.

Dalai Lama TT sucked, not a single chuckle out of me.


*RICHARD SIMMONS*
This was quite an entertaining segment. He's got a good heart.

"Let's pick on Dickie!!" funniest line of the night, and him screaming
at Dave was funny as well.


*CASEY AFFLECK*
He was a good guest. "Gone Baby Gone" opens Friday (October 19). "The
Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" is now playing
in selected cities.

Oh the silence was deafening when Dave asked the audience if anyone
has seen it.


*SONDRE LERCHE*
I wanted to like this song, but it just didn't do it for me. It kind of
annoyed me, frankly. The song is from the "Dan in Real Life" original
motion picture soundtrack. This edition of 'When Did Helen Fast
Forward?' is a tough one. I think I'll skip this round.

Total ff for me. Sondre was too creepy looking.
