Football. Lame, boring Atlanta Falcons football. Then CBS had to show
CSI and the 11:00 news, delayed almost 2 hours. Do they really think
anyone stays up that late to watch the local news? Why not just skip
the news and go straight to the Late Show?
I thought it might have really been the early harvest.
Or the drought.
Got water?
The drought is very real. The other morning I woke up to hear the
radio guy telling everyone to ignore the cloudy, brownish color of the
water -- it's still drinkable, he says. The yucky color is because of
the mineral sediments that are in the lowest depths of the Bear Creek
reservoir (where we get our water). Unless it rains soon, we have less
than a month of water left in this county. What do we do then, I
wonder? I keep water in my pool all year long (there's no drain) so
maybe I should get used to bathing in cold lightning-fast dips instead
of the leisurely warm showers I wantonly enjoyed in pre-drought years.
Too bad we didn't wake up to the crisis a whole lot sooner. Atlanta's
Lake Lanier is in dire trouble. They could run out of water in 3 or 4
months.
Pray for rain.
