I think it's part of the deal for a cable network getting the rights. ESPN has to make it available to a local station in the cities involved if it meets the blackout rules. In that case its like any syndicated show... and network affiliation doesn't matter, though I'm sure in many cases they'd prefer to go through the ABC affiliate.

WKRC is showing the Bengals' game tonight, and the game will likely
move LS to past midnight (if they show it at all - or JIP it again).
