Now, through your (Donz5) terse, insulting remarks ...
How were my responses "insulting?" The only "insult" I've seen in this
particular back and forth between us was you describing Stephanie as
an "idiot." As to my responses being "terse": guilty as charged --
I've never been keen on verbosity. If that's "insulting" to you, so be
it.
you have proven me
wrong on two counts:
2) That Dave asked her out. -False. There is no evidence to back this
up.
3) That the segments ended after she turned him down (even though he
never asked to begin with). False again. There is no evidence to back
this up
You (Donz5) then wrote:
" In short, everything.", which suggests that everything I have
written is a pack of lies. Not true.
You asked which parts of your comments were "complete and utter
fiction"; after picking apart each claim, my answer was "everything."
As you acknowledged above. I'm not clear why you're challenging your
own admission.
I think that my comments are
largely subjective and just because I think that the Meg business fits
under this umbrella category of "obsession" and you don't doesn't make
it automatically wrong.
There's "subjective" and then there's blanket fiction.
I have also asserted that:
[paraphrasing] "Stephanie is an idiot."
I contend that Stephanie is an idiot. That is my view, editorially.
You're entitled to your view, but not your facts. That you "contend"
that Stephanie is an "idiot" betrays an ignorance that's far beyond
this thread explaining.
And, furthermore, if I had tapes of the show when Dave was calling her
asking about her weekend, I would prove without a doubt that she came
off as an idiot. Back to the editorializing, Stephanie is an all-day
idiot with thick legs, zero on-air personality, and no sense of humor.
And no, you won't find that in the database.
Correct; I try to keep as much fictional nonsense out of the databases
as I can.
You (Donz5) wrote:
"How does 'the whole thing with Meg' fit in?"
Once again, that was a recurring bit (or feature) on Late Night. There
were many recurring bits. This list encapsulated many of them.
You (Donz5) wrote:
"After the initial phone call, ask yourself if Meg knew ahead of time
whether she would be expecting a call from Dave. Ask yourself if she
was unaware of beach balls, ten Top Ten participants, or a
hairdresser hanging outside her office."
Again, I think you (and Bill, so far) are taking what I say (write)
too seriously - or as if I'm reviewing copies of the show and just
posting lies about them. I'm not.
Your alleged ability to "prove" that Stephanie is an "idiot"
contradicts your above claim.
I do not have video copies of every
Dave show, nor do I have databases, FAQ's and websites at my
fingertips from which to glean information to post under a vague
topic. If I did, it wouldn't have been fun to begin with!
As I mentioned before, I thought this discussion list was intended to
be a lighthearted discussion about a tv show. I concede. I was wrong.
I was wrong about many, many things and there are lots of people
willing to point out the obvious. That I was wrong. My ass is chapped
from "talking out of it"-- Although, Bill, that is technically
impossible since we're, what?! That's right! Typing messages, not
speaking! Stop and think!
Is this board (or was it?) supposed to be even kinda fun? Or is it all
just insults? It sure as hell ain't as fun as it was.
Again, ask yourself who's initiating the insults.
