Re: Tues. 3/13 Big Show Synopsis

Brady filted:

And Johnny Dark is running for president.

I can see this getting stretched out for weeks until we're all sick of the
premise...if I'd been writing it, and wanted to set it up as a one-time deal, I
would have had him start as he did, throwing the angry questions out ("are you
sick and tired of taxes?!"), and finish as he shrugs and says "okay, just
checking"....

--------

*JEFF GOLDBLUM*
Long story short: he had a passport problem at the airport, but through
a coincidental series of events, he was still able to catch his flight.
--------

Long story short: a police officer thought he was drunk, but really he
was just acting; he was in an acting class. All's well that ended well.

Jeff Goldblum is actually a pretty good story teller.

His new show is ... Hmm, I'll have to look it up. (I just got distracted
again.)

"Raines"...about a detective who hallucinates but still solves crimes....

--------

*BARBARA MCQUEEN*
She was married to the late Steve McQueen. She's published a book of
photos chronicling their life together. So there you have it.
--------

Two really flaky guests on one show...shades of Merv's "theme shows"....

Does anyone expect to see Barbara back again in the future?...I sensed that she
didn't think she was going over well, and I can only hope Dave reassured her
after the segment...the audience was having a great time, and laughing *with*
her, not *at* her, and she's cleaerly fun to hang around with...still, she may
have used up her life's store of talk-show material in one go....r

--------

*'THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE QUEEN' ENSEMBLE*
Something just occurred to me: I wish I were dating a violin player who
wore top hats and long gloves.

And nothing else....

I just flipped over to Fox News' "Hannity & Colmes." They're discussing
climate change. There's something disturbing about the attempted
politicization of science. I mean, the Earth is approximately 6,000
years old! Can't the fossil record, despite its large gaps -- like the
gap from the period in which people rode dinosaurs -- tell us everything
we need to know about climatological patterns?

Oh, look: Greta Van Susteren is still covering Anna Nicole Smith. Ms.
Van Susteren and Nancy Grace should be quite proud of the great work
they've done -- and continue to do (!) -- in covering this important case.

You'll notice they don't have Greta Van Susteren covering the dinosaur
story...that would be just a little *too* ironic....r
