I feel bad for Regis. I wonder if that means he gets booked on the LS
tonight.
He's not scheduled at the moment.

Philbin to Undergo Bypass Surgery
Regis Philbin dealt fans a shock Monday when he told them on "Live
With Regis and Kelly" he's undergoing a heart bypass operation this
week.
Mr. Philbin, 76, returned to his show three days after having an
angioplasty in 1993 and said he wished that more simple procedure
would solve things this time.
However, after consulting with two doctors and bypass veteran pal
David Letterman, Mr. Philbin said he resigned himself to the
operation.
In the manner his fans recognize as often hypochondriacal and always
joking, he said the bypass is the most long-lasting of the heart-
repair options, "But how long do I have anyway? I'm not kidding."
Co-host Kelly Ripa stressed to Mr. Philbin that her father's heart
bypass had changed his life "dramatically."
Regis was talking about the upcoming surgery and talked about how he
just wanted an angioplasty but was told he needed bypass surgery. He
said he called Dave and asked Dave about it.
He said that Dave told him it was the best thing he ever did and that
Regis should do it as it will make him feel so much better.
Then Kelly started talking about her father's surgery and how it was
the best thing her father ever did and that he felt so much better
after the surgery.
Then Regis started asking her questions about the surgery and that's
when Kelly stopped and said - "Listen, maybe you should ask your
doctor these questions. From what I gather, so far you've consulted
two talk show hosts. I think maybe you should bring your doctor into
the loop and let him answer those questions."
And he probably won't be scheduled this week on the Late Show as he
said he is going in tomorrow for pre-op work. So he must be having it
pretty soon. It sounded like today (Monday) was his last day on
"Live" as he was saying good-bye and thank you at the end of the show.
Maybe...hoping he does okay!
