He made his move and caused a decent run for Sirius, now they will have to
rely on advertising and new talent to keep subs coming. Stern will still
be part of their promotion but in the future they are going to have to win
subs the old fashioned way. I still think Stern's audience will grow
faster than the overall subs by % but he won't have the impact he had. I
am hoping for a merger since I don't want to lose the XM stations I like
but I want to add a few that are only on Sirius.
I agree. He should get his new listeners from people who buy cars with
sirius included. There are millions out there that used to listen to him
religiously....but haven't heard him in years.
But he will need to do a better show to keep those people as permanent
listeners.
People I know prefer listening to the reruns once or twice a week anyway.
I thought Stern's original plan was to get more involved in programming 3
stations and less involved in doing a radio show, if the merger happens he
might end up doing that.
The original programming hasn't been discussed in here for a long time. I
think that was a major disappointment to many of the "only for stern" subs.
It's amazing that almost 2 years have past....and the "great programming"
consists of a drug addict drunk sports guy fired from everywhere, a bloated
douche also fired with no chance for a job on free radio, and amateurs from
the wack pack collection.
Goblin is so cheap that at the level he is willing to pay....he can only get
those banned from free radio.
And even if he was going to pay a fair wage....why would anyone with any
talent want to leave the exposure they get from free radio....or be forced
to kiss the ass of a washed up has been ...and that of his whore.
