only a small subset of the geek/cheap/broke set will bother to download
the show, for the rest of us it is much better to listen to it live and
with no hastle

It's not much of a search. Or a download. And even we Unix people can
drag-and-drop to a USB device.
Listen when you want, and skip what you don't like?
I do this currently with my sat radio. I always leave the radio on, which
the cursor at the beginning of the stored audio. This gives me a good hour
+/- of buffer to skip past the things I do not want to hear.
That's not the same thing as having a permanent, random-access copy of
something you can listen to any or all of anytime you want. Even if I
were a subscriber, I'd download the show.
