Great call Sirius hiring a has-been like Stern. And washed-up Bubba aActually, it's a little over $4, but if Joe thinks that's "near $3," I can
love sponge doesn't help either.
say it's "near $5" and be closer to right. Incidentally, the dow is off 200
points today and the broader market indexes are also down -- and XM is down
even more than Sirius. Newsflash! Stocks tend to go down during a broad
selloff.
It's simple. Inflation numbers are higher than expected. That raises fears
that the fed will raise interest rates again (as they appeared to intend to
do anyway at the last meeting). That reduces demand for new vehicles. That
reduces sales of new OEM subscriptions for XM and Sirius. It has nothing to
do with the programming -- it has to do with the economy. Actually I'd love
it if Sirius was down to $3 -- great buy opportunity.
