The director is right. If she really wants to be an actress, she has to
write off daddy's inheritance, bite the bullet and be her own person. She
should change her phone number and not communicate with him until he has come
to terms with her independence, or he will totally mind-*** her.

Alison learned that lesson the hard way, after 20 years with him.

Subconsciously she may have wanted to punish him. But it's also a smart
thing to do to build a name for herself. Sex sells. Howard Stern's daughter
selling sex sells even better. She has every right to exploit herself and
her name. So what if the play sucks? She'd get more work from it.

Daddy did a combination of guilt-tripping her over how she was "hurting him,
mom, granny and grandpa..." and probably tossed in some threats about
punishing her financially. It's as simple as that.

Remember when Fred's wife was doing a play and Stern laid it on thick about
how she was hurting Fred's feelings by making out with other guys? How he
warned her that Fred supported her financially (hint hint)?

He gave Emily the same mind-***.

Go grab that clip in binaries where Howard gave his spin today. The lies
were coming fast and furious, but they were not the least bit convincing.
