I'm sure he embellished the story to make him look like less of a scumbag and more like a con man, but the stories were in the newspapers about 2 years ago and he did get arrested for buying things on credit and fencing the stuff. He was also charged with some kid related charges which he doesn't really own up to, endangering the welfare of a minor, crossing state lines with a minor, kidnapping etc. You could pull the same caper with a few Best Buy credit cards. You wouldn't even have to do the incredible yiddish/texas accent trick.

For awhile there was a furniture store (Hielig Meyers) that targeted white trash southerners for credit, they went bankrupt after hundreds of their customers bought truckloads of furniture and sold it at a discount. Imagine the salesman who approved the order to send 100 grand in furniture to a trailer park.

He's no conman, he's a typical scumbag except that most scumbags know better than to drag a child along on their crime spree. I hope any idiot who buys his DVD shares his karma.
