Here we have what the denizens claim is the most energetic and exciting city
in the world. Why is something that is NOT GOING HAPPEN news?
How does this completely worthless *** about anyone even remote associated
with Hoohoo get into the news? Chaunce Hayden might have done some insider
trading. Whoa! I bet every water cooler on Wall Street was buzzing with that
one. Some local TV station even had a story on Bababooey doing a weekend
remote at a jewelry store. Move over 9/11, there's a NEW top story in town!
Here is how journalism in New York works:
"Hello Managing Editor, New York Times? Yeah, Don Buchwald here. Hey listen,
my boy Howard is not getting a lot of media attention lately but we really
need the PR. I tell you what, plant a little story that he might have given
a Scores girl a Sirius radio in exchange for some sexual favors? What? Are
you kidding me? Do you think any chick this side of my grandmother would
touch him for less than a mill? This is the Times, what do you care about
the truth? Yo take care of me and I'll take care of you. Run the story and I
will send you a box seat ticket to the Yankees game. You want a *pair*?
Okay, but you gotta kill the story about Robin crashing that Bar Mitzvah
just to eat the buffet."
