Serious question -> what are trading cards?

They'rre little cards with pictures of various things/people on them.
Most famous is baseball cards, featuring players on the front, stats
on the back. You trade them with your friends/enemies/mysterious
shadowy figures in dark alleys. What have you.

A take on the is the trading card game, where the cards have hit
points and powers, and you battle each card to determine a winner. The
most popular TCG is magic The Gathering.

I actually managed to recreate the Yugioh Pegasus Starter Deck from
buying various collections. All 50 cards, no box.

This is an American phenomenon?

Undoubtedly. Though Yugioh has had Spanish translations.
