Sorry, this is was in PS just after the three had met on the train.
Malfoy had just been bitten by Scabbers and Hermione had arrived to
survey the mess in the compartment. She says:
"You'd better hurry up and put your robes on, I've just
been up to the front to ask the driver, and he
says we're nearly there. You haven't been fighting,
have you? You'll be in trouble before we even get there!"
Alas, that undoubtedly was absolutely rubbish. There isn't a train in
the world where passengers can go up and tap the driver on the shoulder
as casually as that :-(
(Deliberately so, one imagines: it would be frightfully distracting.)
Clearly what she really meant was "I've just been out to the corridor to
ask the *guard*..." :-p
Guess the driver doesn't drive on the Hogwarts Express. Myabe he
plays magical golf?
