Hagrids wand into the umbrella. I think Hagrid does way to good for that to be
a broken wand hidden in it. It also explains wwhy hagrid cluched his umbrella
so tightly when He took Harry into Olavander's wand shop. I rather think
Olavander would have known the wand made into that umbrella wasn't really
broken.
Originally I thought Hagrid had sort of wrapped the umbrella around
the parts of his wand... then I thought DD had repaired it but it just
hadn't occurred to me that the umbrella *was* the wand transfigured!
Nice idea.

I origenaly thought the same as you that the broken parts were hidden in it.
However, after rehearing the books I came up with the belife that it was the
repaired wand just transfigured. And I must say that I'm surprised that we didn't
see more items that were realy hidden wands. I wounder if a wand pipe is posable.
Would the smoking of things mess it up?
