Well, it's not really a spell, but I love the idea of riding a broomstick (though with the cushioning spell in place!) - but I suppose Voldy and Snape's flying spell would be as good, so perhaps that one.

Reparo would definitely be the most useful but given how often I misplace things, I'd probably use accio the most :)

But going into any detail about how spells were created would require the explanation of the underlying logic and how they work, which is one thing very absent from the books unfortunately - or perhaps that's a part of the books' magic:) ...
