that prohibited magic in front of Muggles??
Which Muggles? He did in front of the Dursely's, who knew about
magic.
Yet Harry was charged with breaching the Decree of Secrecy because he performed a spell on Dudley Dursley who, as you say, knew about him already.
The entire plotline about Harry in OoP was daft since the Muggle that
he did magic in front of was someone who already knew he was a
wizard... and had known for some years... *and* had seen magic at
least twice before!!
I resolved it as railroading Harry. So it didn't matter who he did it
in front of, just that he did. And during the trial, it rarely got
mentioned, as they focused more on Harry's Patronus and debating
Dementor attacks.
So why didn't they raise the inconsistency in application at in the hearing?
