I think you found a contradiction.

DD was sure that Harry death was intended to make a horcux and guess that LV
thinking he failed, made the snake into one. We find out later that he was
right and did make the snake into a Horcrux. So while the books seem clear
that Harry was to be the death LV was to make his last Horcrux... she said a
couple of times...

"Harry was not technically a Horcrux, due to Voldemort's lack of intent"

that there was no intent to make a horcrux when he [tried] to kill Harry.

Luckily, conjecture, even on DD's part, doesn't make it so. :)

A bigger issue is what happened to all the *other* soul pieces that
were ripped away from the whole by murder?

We know Voldemort murdered hundreds of people personally... if not
thousands... and only a very few of the ripped soul pieces were made
into Horcruxes.
