No he wasn't in OotP as the original SK - Dd - was alive. Harry only became an SK with Dd's death, like the rest of them. Hence my question, in OotP he knew the secret but wasn't an SK, pretty much the same as Yaxley in DH who found out from Hermione but wasn't an SK.

Hmm, the other point is that presumably if ANY SK dies, then everyone who knows the secret becomes an SK. So with a dozen or more newly created SKs, the secret becomes even more vulnerable. Just as well MadEye died early before Yaxley found out, and no-one else in the Order died until the battle of Hogwarts (did they?)

I never said that Harry or Hermione were original SK.

This is how it works [and been well footnoted in other notes]

1. There was one SK. This was DD.

2. DD told about 20 people the secret [including Harry, Hermione & Snape]

3.Those people 20 people [I'll call the Secret Holders] were not SK.

4. DD died and the 20 Secret Holders became SK.

4b Hermione is now a SK [and also Harry]

5. Hermione let Yaxley in on the secret

Yaxley is now a Secret Holder but NOT a SK

as far as you presumption "presumably if ANY SK dies, then everyone who knows the secret becomes an SK"...

I don't think so... at least not if you mean that if Ron dies then any one who Hermione told would become a SK or so on... this is a new area, more than one SK, but I would presume that if Ron dies only those who Ron told would then become SK or an outside chance that if ALL of the 20 2nd generation SK dies then all who knew the secret from them would become SK.
