I never said they were bad, far from here, just that there are other
child actors that I see with a good career before them.
On the contrary by stating that they couldn't 'hold a candle' to other
actors you were very scathing indeed.

I agree with you that there was a lot of missing info in the POA
movies, but I read somewhere that, to the people that did not read the
books, the movies were perfectly understandable and enjoyable.
As for me, I almost never compare books to movies, as I enjoy each of
them on their own. If the movie entertains me, I'll forgive the
discrespancies. I liked POA because they were refreshing after the
blandness of the Columbus-directed movies.
Refreshing? Again I can't agree, with the exception of the outdoor settings
which were achieved by filming on location the interior sets were shot in
such a manner as to make them unrecognisable. The great hall was reduced to
something resembling a grubby lounge and the rest of the castly looked plain
shabby. While I agree that a change in vision was necessary as the third
book was the first of what I would call the 'adult' books, that is the clild
like magic was rapidly draining away from that world and leaving some harsh
realities for Harry to deal with, the combination of grubby, claustrophobic
interior sets and a disregard for elements of the book that were important
to the overall series made POA the weakest of the films to date.

Well, like the new "Star Wars" movies, screenplay-wise, the HP movies
are full of "if only..." moments. "If only they had talked a bit more
about the marauders". "If only Ron was not shown as such a wimpering
pansy". "If only..."
If only he hadn't butchered the characters it might have been watchable.
But all in all, those scripts remain very faithful to the source,
No they don't.
especially when compared to other adaptations. Kloves scripts, IMO,
were tighter, more comprehensible, more entertaining.
As I said in some ways he shows great insight into the characters, and in
truth HP is a character driven series of books and films, yet he seems to
allow himself to be distracted in spots pressing some characters to the fore
(Especially Hermione) who really don't have that role to play. I'd dispute
that the result is more entertaining. In some ways the first two films were
appropriate to the scope of the storys they evolved from. Harry's
perspective was very child like in those but that was all turned on it's
head by POA.
