Getting the prophecy wasn't important to Dumbledore and the Order, but
why should that mean that the prophecy itself wasn't important?
Remember, this is Dumbledore we're talking about. He's usually a few
moves ahead of Voldemort, and he always tells less than he knows.
Let's look at it from Dumbledore's point of view. His big problem,
other than Voldemort, is that Fudge and the Ministry refuse to admit
that Voldemort could be back. His big advantage is that Voldemort is
keeping a low profile and postponing his main attack while he tries to
get the rest of the prophecy, which is at the Ministry. So the most
useful thing for Dumbledore is for Voldemort to try and fail to get
the prophecy, until he goes to the Ministry, and then he gets seen and
identified while he's there.
Oddly enough, the best outcome for Dumbledore is exactly what
happened, and it happened because the prophecy was still there to bait
the trap. If anything had happened to the prophecy and Voldemort had
found out, the plan wouldn't have worked, and that might have been
much worse than letting Voldemort hear the rest of the prophecy.

But the Prophecy was clearly told to Dumbledore - not really anyone
else. It was indeed important to the order because it identified the one
who would finally end Voldemort - which I believe was the purpose of the
order.
The problem with the prophecy was that it actually named two
possibilities. I continue to believe that Dumbledore did not need Snape
to figure out just who they were. Snape may have told him who they were
going after first - but Dumbledore surely knew who had thrice defied
Voldemort and had a child.
The question I have always had was about Wormtail. I assume HE was a
double agent - working in the OOP for Voldemort. He has always been
described as not particularly good at magic. How did he manage to
prevent Dumbledore from discovering that he was working for V? Surely -
Dumbledore was a very good Legillimens - he should have figured out that
Wormtail was a traitor. He should also have known that Sirius was
telling the truth regarding what happened that night.
